THE 150 SERIES

My work explores the intersection of coastal landscapes and man-made structures, focusing on the unique geography of North Norfolk and the wider UK landscape. I am captivated by disused wartime structures, viewing them not as scars, but as ever-changing monuments where history meets the natural elements.

This exploration shapes the 150 Series: 150 paintings created over 150 weeks, each on a 150 × 150 mm panel, released online weekly. While inspired by imagery from my travels around the UK, the collection maintains a strong connection to North Norfolk.

To capture the contrast between these elements, I combine acrylic painting with the hand-drawn lines of sketch monoprinting. I use a vibrant colour palette to infuse these scenes with energy. By layering textured prints over bold blocks of paint, I highlight the unexpected harmony between weathered, semi-permanent landmarks and the shifting seaside environment.
